Winthrop University’s online master’s degree program in social work offers students a curriculum focused on empowerment practice which prepares them to be specialized social workers. Though there is no accelerated option, some students may be eligible for the advanced standing track if they already hold a bachelor’s degree in social work. A total of 900 hours of fieldwork practicum and 60 credit hours is required to complete the traditional track and the advanced standing status requires 660 fieldwork hours and 39 credit hours.
