The University of North Carolina-Pembroke’s online master’s degree program in social work provides students with an advanced generalist practice in rural communities and an emphasis on working with at-risk populations. While there is no accelerated track offered, students may be eligible for the advanced standing track if they already hold a bachelor’s degree in social work, reducing the required 50 to 62 credit hours for the traditional program to 35 for the advanced track. A total of 930 hours of fieldwork practicum is required to complete the traditional track and 500 hours are required for the advanced standing track. UNC Pembroke is currently accepting applications for summer and fall 2023, though the traditional fully-online MSW track deadline closed on March 1.
