Accredited Online Master’s of Social Work (MSW) Programs

Students enrolled in the University of North Carolina-Charlotte’s online master’s degree program in social work will study a generalist and specialized curriculum that prepares them for a career with an emphasis on culturally informed, community-engaged practice, policy, and research. While there is no accelerated track, some students may be eligible for the advanced standing track if they already hold a bachelor’s degree in social work. A total of at least 900 hours of fieldwork practicum is required to complete the traditional track and 60 credit hours are required. The advanced standing status requires 39 credit hours and 500 fieldwork hours. The online program is typically for residents of North Carolina, though the university is accredited to offer online course in all U.S, states and territories. Some fieldwork requirements may change based on the state where a student lives. The application deadline was Jan. 15 though applications submitted afterward will be reviewed and considered on a space-available basis.
