The University of Alaska-Anchorage’s online master’s degree program in social work prepares students to become an advanced generalist with a focus on health and social issues in Alaska. Students can also choose to become a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), or specialize in school social work. The program is fully online and students may join the program from anywhere in Alaska, but students must be physically present in Alaska while completing the MSW program. Students must complete 960 field hours to graduate, while advanced standing students are required to complete 480 field hours to graduate. Degree completion generally takes two years for students attending full-time, or one year for full-time advanced standing students. Part-time options are also available. A GRE score is not required for application consideration.
