The University at Albany, State University of New York’s master’s degree program in social work provides students with a social work cirriculum that prepares students for a career with either a specialization in clinical or macro social work. While there is no accelerated track offered, students may be eligible for the advanced standing track if they already hold a bachelor’s degree in social work, reducing the required 60 credit hours for the traditional program. Advanced standing students are awarded up to 21 credits toward their MSW degree. There is a 1,000-hour fieldwork practicum required to complete the traditional track and 500 hours are required for the advanced standing track.
