St. Ambrose University’s online master’s degree program in social work provides students with an advanced generalist social work practice with an emphasis on empowerment. While there is no accelerated track offered, students may be eligible for the advanced standing track if they already hold a bachelor’s in social work, reducing the required 60 credit hours to 36 hours. A total of 912 hours of fieldwork practicum is required to complete the traditional track. Only the one-year advanced standing program and the part-time traditional MSW offerings are available online. The advanced standing summer start application deadline is April 1 while the application deadlines are May 1 and Aug. 1 respectively for fall enrollment in the full- and part-time programs.
