Students enrolled in Southern Illinois University-Carbondale’s master’s degree program in social work will study a curriculum that prepares applicants for social work careers with an emphasis in either health and mental health or children, youth, and families. While there is no accelerated track offered, students may be eligible for the advanced standing track if they already hold a bachelor’s in social work, reducing the required 60 credit hours to 30 hours. A total of 967 hours of fieldwork practicum is required to complete the traditional track and 607 hours are needed for the advanced standing offering. The application deadline is April 1.
