Carlow University’s online master’s degree progam in social work offers students the option to complete their MSW with an emphasis on either macro or direct practice. While there is no accelerated track offering, students with a bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited institution may be eligible to participate in the advanced standing option for either emphasis, requiring 45 credits as opposed to the 60 credits required for the traditional track. Per the CSWE, at least 900 hours of fieldwork are necessary for completion of the traditional track program, though more may be required. Applications are considered on a rolling basis and there are three start dates offered each year.
